Kagiso Trust Investments (KTI) was formed in December 1993 by a leading non-governmental organisation (NGO), Kagiso Trust, to generate sustainable, long-term dividends and to provide the Trust with funds for community development and economic empowerment programmes.

Altron, through its principal subsidiaries, Allied Technologies Limited, Bytes Technology Group (Pty) Limited and Power Technologies (Pty) Limited, operates in the telecommunications, multi-media, information technology and power electronics industries.

In 2000, USKO was re-branded as Bytes Technology Group Limited (Bytes) and the IT interests of Fintech were purchased by them to consolidate the group’s IT.
